There are so many Canadians right now who are divided about the change in O Canada. In an effort to be more Gender-Neutral a bill has been passed that will change the line “In all thy sons command” to “In all of us command”. As you guys can clearly see I’m a music news website but this is something so big that I had to talk about because I’ve had a lot of angry people message me on social media and I wanted to save my thoughts for this article.
I’ve always been an advocate for gender equality. Being against this change would make me a hypocrite of that. I can understand both sides to the argument. I understand why people might be angry and I understand the people who embrace this change. People always talk about how they want change and they want more equality but then something like this happens then they say “nah fam, I’m out”. I am very much happy that we are, in some way, making some kind of effort to treat women equally. We still have a long ways to go but it’s a start.
However, on the flip side of that….this opens Pandoras box for women to cry feminism and change much more. Not that I think feminism is a bad thing but it draws that fine line of feminists that I despise. They’ll see this story and think that if they can change this they can change anything. By the way, I don’t mean real feminists. I mean people who call themselves feminists but they would kill a man just because he’s a man. I’m not even saying that to be funny or to exaggerate. We literally see these kinds of things happen. THOSE are the women who have no clue what feminism is. They just do things to be assholes and they think they can change our way of living just for shits and giggles because it doesn’t appeal to their personal beliefs. We already see it everywhere. We can’t say or do anything anymore without someone crying racist or sexist or feminism. Like when you try and open the door for a lady and she yells at you that she doesn’t need a man because she’s a feminist. Yea. Those retards. Sorry for being a gentleman. Next time I’ll slam the door on your face.
The only thing that scares me is knowing what else can and will be changed. Two words in a song shouldn’t be sending people into a rage where they punch people in the face and light buildings on fire. If you get triggered that easily I think you have more problems to worry about than song lyrics. Also, think about the time when O Canada was created. It was a very different time back then. Times have changed. At least this change was made for a purpose. I’ve seen so many stories of women getting awesome video games cancelled and banned because the game didn’t include a female character. You wanna talk about retards? Start with those feminists.
