Caitlin and Sidney had music in their blood at a very young age. At just 5 years old Caitlin told her mom that she wanted to be a rockstar. They both took guitar lessons and never looked back.
Acoustic instruments are their weapons of choice and with their incredibly powerful voices they have opened up a whole world where anything is possible and you learn that hard work pays off in the end. They sing their own original songs but also do tons of cover songs from different styles and genres of music across the world.
Their lyrics are creative and effortlessly make you feel what the songs are about. A lot of times musicians don’t know how to do that. I’ve been involved in the music industry since I can remember and one thing I’ve learned is you can be the most talented musician in the world but if your lyrics aren’t creative you’ll always be at only 50% when you could be so much more. Yes, your song may be catchy and have awesome instruments and amazing vocals but the lyrics are the glue that holds it all together. That’s why I would rather have an album every 10 years if it means it’ll be the best thing ever…rather than have a band come out with an album every year just to meet deadlines and get music out there. It’ll just be watered down and not be the best it can be.
Facing West even made fans in the Colorado Rockies Baseball Club! That’s pretty awesome since they’re from Colorado and it makes it so much sweeter when you’re being recognized for your talent by the place you grew up.
On a personal note, I’ve messaged them briefly on Twitter and they seem like a bunch of sweet kids and my hats off to them for doing what they love, working their asses off, and having respect for the business. They’re gonna do great things and they’re only gonna go North from here. (was that a bad joke? LOL I’m sorry <3)
