Jake Paul “It’s Everyday Bro” Song Review

I honestly can’t believe I’m talking about this song and video. I was watching a Pewdiepie video and he was reacting to this song and I was speechless at everything about the song. I have no idea who Jake Paul is. Only thing I know is he’s from Disney. I want to be nice. I want to give constructive criticism about this song and video because it’s not my place to tell someone what to sing about and how to sing it but there’s quite a bit about this song that left a sour taste in my mouth. And I’m not the only one since the video is about a 50% like to dislike ratio. Like I said, I’m gonna be nice because I don’t know Mr. Jake Paul and I don’t want to offend him but I want to point out things he could work on to be the best rapper that he could be.

Let’s start with the lyrics. So many problems here. First, he comes across as an ego maniac. Maybe that’s just how he wanted the song to go. Like a story. It has nothing to do with him or anything that actually happened to him but since this is the first song of him that seemingly went viral it’s made him out to look like he likes to take revenge on the women he dates. Also, the lyrics just don’t make sense and they feel forced as if he didn’t know what to rap about or how to make things rhyme so he was just saying things. “And they selling like a god church”. What’s the difference between a church and a God church? Has the church I’ve been going to been a lie my whole life!? Don’t even get me started on “England is my city” because I don’t feel like playing Geography teacher.

Shall we move on to their outfits or should I be nice and start saying what I appreciated about the song? Okay, we’ll move on. The rhythm of the song didn’t match the vocals so my constructive criticism would be that he could have changed that and it would have been a little more…tolerable. What Jake needs to learn (and this is not me being harsh) is that there is more to rapping than just rhyming words. go listen to a Snoop Dogg song. Whether you love the dogg or hate him he knows how to flow. How to feel the music. How to become one with the song. It’s an art form. Jake Paul has elements of talent but it’s jumbled up in the mess of this song. For all I know all his songs are different and more creative but I’m only reviewing this song and I have to go by what I’ve heard in this song.

Another thing I enjoyed about the video is the woman. But for legal reasons, since I don’t know how old she is, I’ll leave it at that. That was a joke by the way. I feel like I have to say that or I’ll have a million comments from fake accounts telling me how horrible of a person I am.

My last piece of constructive criticism is when you’re making a video try making it seem more like you’re having fun rather than trying to look cool. Because this video screamed of them trying to desperately look cool but with the flaws of this song it didn’t work out that way. It’s okay to mess around and have a good time but the video didn’t seem fun or pleasing to the viewers eyes. I think that’s a big part of why the video had so many dislikes. The lyrics as well as the video made it seem like they were just trying to look cool because they had their own rap video. It’s okay to brag but do it with style. I’ll use 50 cent as an example for this. Most of his videos are him trying to look cool but he does it with style and it doesn’t come across so desperate.

I hope people didn’t find my review too harsh. I was honestly trying to point out what he could have done better and why so many people didn’t like this video. I  have no issues with Jake. I don’t even know him. He could be the nicest guy in the world and I want to see him succeed.
